want a dog who stays this close even when you let him off leash this is how I did it first with my dog on a long line I started rewarding him for any offered attention in my direction when that was looking good I started rewarding him for movement in my direction but then all he was doing was checking in and out over and over so I started rewarding for every X number of steps he stayed with me then I rewarded stopping with me and he was doing great but he didn't want to do anything other than train so I put both behaviors on Q buts let's go okay and now it doesn't matter where I walk him even if he's off leash he's going to stick close ...
